Alisson Becker has flown home to Brazil during Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Head coach Arne Slot confirmed the decision before the Reds’ friendly clash with Yokohama F.

“He had to go back to Brazil for private reasons,” Slot told Liverpool FC.

And in pre-season, it’s also not ideal if you miss out on part of the preparation.

“But again, private life is more important in these matters than joining a game today.”

The 32-year-old started in Liverpool’s recent 4-2 loss to AC Milan but missed the final training session ahead of the Yokohama game.

His absence marks the third early departure from the tour, following Joe Gomez (Achilles issue) and Luis Diaz (confirmed Bayern Munich transfer).

Alisson is expected to rejoin the squad when they return to the UK.

Despite the disruption, Slot remains focused on preparing his squad for a strong start to the 2025/26 campaign.
