Hugo Ekitike has linked up with his new team-mates for the first time after jetting off to Hong Kong for Liverpool's pre-season tour, and he seemed comfortable from the get-go.

Ekitike joins Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez in a busy transfer window that has seen Liverpool shell out £265m on seven new players.

There have been numerous fresh faces in the Liverpool squad this summer as they gear up to defend their Premier League crown.

The efforts of Arne Slot to make them feel welcome was evident in behind-the-scenes footage shared by the club on social media.

Ekitike's transfer was confirmed by Liverpool on Wednesday before he flew straight to Hong Kong on Thursday.

Reports surfaced in June claiming he was 'disappointed' by the club's contract proposal.

His representatives are pushing for improved wages following the substantial new deals handed to Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Konate, whose present contract runs until June 2026, has attracted interest from Real Madrid, who have built a formidable track record of securing players as free transfers.

Liverpool are painfully aware of this approach, having witnessed Trent Alexander-Arnold depart in precisely this manner during the summer, whilst Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba all joined Madrid through identical routes.

A summer departure for Konate appears improbable, though Liverpool have been monitoring Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

Presently, however, all attention centres on Alexander Isak, following the striker's declaration to Newcastle that he wishes to examine his transfer possibilities.

Liverpool approached Newcastle regarding Isak last week prior to signing Ekitike, and it's believed they could still afford the Swedish strike despite enjoying a big summer already.

With Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz all possibly on their way out, there could be more transfers on the horizon this summer.
