Liverpool travel to Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon looking to preserve their flawless start to the Premier League season, with the tantalising prospect of Alexander Isak’s debut adding extra intrigue to what should be a routine victory for the defending champions.

The reigning champions have made an emphatic statement in their title defence, notching impressive victories over Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Arsenal to establish themselves as the only side with a perfect record after three matches.

Their 8-goal tally also places them as the division’s leading scorers, despite being unable to call upon their record signing until now.

However, while there has been positive Jeremie Frimpong updates, there appears to be another casualty.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot has revealed that Curtis Jones picked up an injury against Arsenal and won’t feature at Turf Moor this weekend:

“The players are fit, I think so.

We trained today with most of them for the first time this week,” he said.

“Curtis Jones got injured in the last game, so he will not be available for the game against Burnley but everyone came back without a problem?

That is not always the case.”

“We are happy they are fit, so a big compliment for Sweden manager and a few others, Ryan Gravenberch only started one game for Netherlands.”
