Liverpool is negotiating with Feyenoord with the aim of appointing Arne Slot as Jürgen Klopp’s successor.

But Ten Hag moved from being a title winner in the Eredivisie to taking charge of one of English football’s most successful clubs, a journey Slot looks likely to take this summer.

While ten Hag made a good impression in his first season with Manchester United, the Red Devils have gone backwards this season.



Liverpool supporters will hope Slot is successful for a far longer period if he becomes the Reds’ next manager.

The Feyenoord boss has another link with the current Manchester United squad in the shape of left-back Tyrell Malacia.

In 2022, shortly before he left Feyenoord to join Manchester United, Slot warned Ten Hag about the player’s “complacent and arrogant" traits.
