One player everyone will be keeping a close eye on is record signing Florian Wirtz, with the 22-year-old hoping to hit the ground running and set the league alight.

However, when asked about this during his first press conference of the season, Slot revealed that he will be able to handle this pressure due to the mentality he has.

Although his performances in pre-season will have already confirmed this, fans will be reassured once again that their record signing is ready to make a real difference next season.

Wirtz will want to quickly silence any doubters with a solid performance on his league debut, and he might be able to do just that against Bournemouth.

The Cherries have lost three of last season’s back four, as well as their goalkeeper, leaving them a little light at the back.

If Wirtz did not need any more encouragement, the German could be the exact player they did not want to come up against, with the 22-year-old capable of breaking the lines and exploiting weaknesses.

It would be no surprise to see him end the game with at least a few goal involvements, and perhaps even a Man of the Match award for his troubles.
