Arne Slot has become the first Dutch manager to win the Premier League, succeeding where 10 of his compatriots including the likes of the legendary Louis van Gaal, Guus Hiddink and Erik ten Hag all fell short.
While he is the 10th Liverpool boss to lead the Reds to the top-flight title, he is only the fourth to be crowned English champions at the first time of asking - following in the footsteps of Sir Kenny Dalglish (1985/86), Joe Fagan (1983/84) and Matt McQueen (1922/23).
Yet that trio all had a significant advantage over Slot.
The same can be said of Arsenal after Arsene Wenger to an extent, though they have recovered somewhat in recent years.
Many predicted that the Reds would suffer a similar fate when trying to replace the man who turned doubters into believers, won every major honour on offer to him, and ended Liverpool’s 30-year wait to be crowned champions of England.

Yet the Reds have actually gone from strength under their new Dutch head coach, who was a virtual unknown on English soil just 12 months prior to his arrival - despite the fact that he had rejected Tottenham Hotspur’s advances the previous summer.
By winning the Premier League this season, he becomes only the fifth manager to win the title in their first ever season in the reformed English top-flight - following in the footsteps of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Manuel Pellegrini and Antonio Conte.
But the aforementioned quartet were all global names prior to their switches to the Premier League and seen as exciting appointments and big coups for their new clubs as a result.
Mourinho was a reigning European champion, having won the Champions League with FC Porto prior to joining Chelsea in 2004.

He might be Liverpool’s most successful ever manager, but the Reds legend actually oversaw a trophyless maiden campaign after succeeding Bill Shankly.
But Slot’s next challenge will be to oversee something that no Liverpool boss other than Paisley has managed - to successfully defend their own league title.
While the Reds are now 20-time champions, they have only defended the championship five times with the most recent coming under Fagan in 1983/84 - in his first season after succeeding Paisley.
With McQueen inheriting the Liverpool job from David Ashworth in early 1923, it actually leaves Paisley as the only Reds boss to win successive titles - a feat he managed between 1975-77, 1978-1980 and 1981-83.
Of course, it will be no slant on Slot if next season his Liverpool side falls short, especially considering how rare a feat a title defence has proven to be for the Reds in their 133-year history.

But while the Dutchman has ensured Liverpool have been able to pounce when the likes of Man City and Arsenal have not been up to scratch this season, there will be another opening for the Reds next year too with many of the Premier League’s big clubs plotting busy summers in the transfer market.
This includes Liverpool too, of course, with a new left-back and centre-forward expected through the arrival doors at least, joining goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili who has already agreed a £29m switch from Valencia.
But with Trent Alexander-Arnold anticipated to join Real Madrid at the end of his contract, and a number of Slot’s newly-crowned Premier League champions also finding their futures under question, it could prove to be far busier at Anfield.
Slot has won the Premier League at the first time of asking with an inherited squad, with stability proving to be their friend.
But now he’s poised to well and truly get his fingerprints on his side.
Heading into the new campaign as defending champions, Liverpool will be attacking from a position of strength after a chaotic summer free-for-all.
With the Dutchman overseeing a remarkable first season in charge, excitement is already building at what could be about to come next under his watch.
