Stephen Warnock has slammed Arne Slot for talking about the money Feyenoord could receive ahead of his proposed move to Liverpool and admitted: "It lacked a little bit of class."

Slot has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Several candidates - including Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim - have been linked the vacant role but it now looks like Slot is set to take over at the Reds.

While revealing his desire to manage Liverpool, Slot also opened up on the compensation package Feyenoord might receive and how great it would be for Dutch football.

"If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't so sure about his interview talking about the money that Feyenoord are receiving for him and how great it is for Dutch football.

"I just thought it lacked a little bit of class.

Arne Slot is expected to take over at Liverpool.

That's for the two clubs to sort out.

"However, if you're getting a Liverpool job and you've only been a manager for, I think it's seven and a half years I'd be very excited as well!
