Arne Slot has now been told to bring one of his Feyenoord stars with him to Liverpool.

The Dutchman is set to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this summer after catching the eye of Michael Edwards with his efforts in the Netherlands.

Fabrizio Romano claims all documents have now been signed by Liverpool and Feyenoord – with an official club statement set to be made in the near future.

Well, the 45-year-old has now been told to bring Lutsharel Geertruida with him to Merseyside by Dutch football pundit Valentijn Driessen.

Slot has surely been impressed by the 23-year-old’s efforts this season.

Geertruida has made 44 appearances in total across all competitions, popping up on the right and left of defence, as well as in the centre as he showcases impressive versatility.

Speaking on De Telegraaf’s Kick-off podcast, Driessen said: “I think Geertruida, because he can be deployed in a number of positions that might be less occupied at Liverpool.”

The Netherlands international would certainly be useful for Slot to have in the defensive department at Anfield, given the fact Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip have all spent lengthy spells on the sidelines with various injury problems this season.

Interestingly, Geertruida actually wants to follow Slot to Liverpool – according to De Telegraaf.

It is said that the Feyenoord No.4 was in attendance at the London Stadium as Liverpool drew 2-2 against West Ham on Saturday, and the Eredivisie outfit expect him to depart this summer with just over 12 months remaining on his contract.

In total, Geertruida – who Arsenal are looking at – has made 124 appearances under Slot, scoring 14 goals while also providing eight assists.

As far as rumours in Dutch football go, this is currently quite a hot topic in the Netherlands, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.

It would undoubtedly be a deal that make sense for Liverpool, given Geertruida’s connection with Slot, and also the fact Matip is set to leave Anfield this summer…
