The Spaniard burst onto the scene under Jurgen Klopp, but after sustaining a few injuries which kept him out for most of the season, the defensive midfielder was sent out on loan.

Indeed, this could just mean for another season-long loan, but with Wataru Endo not getting any younger and likely to be used as a centre-back more often this season, the Reds need a backup defensive midfielder.

And, even though he played most games, every player needs a rest, and when Endo was called upon, while he was solid enough and did a job, he’s likely to depart over the next couple of years.

Bajcetic, on the other hand, is still just 20 years old, and if the form he showed while playing for Klopp was anything to go off of, he’s got more than enough talent to be a first-team player for Liverpool in the future.
