For Arne Slot, it was pretty much the dream maiden season at Liverpool.
But the Dutchman and Anfield's top brass are not resting on their laurels after unexpectedly cantering to Premier League glory.
After a quiet summer transfer window last year, the Reds have sprung into action ahead of the 2025-26 campaign: Jeremie Frimpong is already in the door with his Bayer Leverkusen team-mate, Florian Wirtz, also on the verge of completing a blockbuster switch for a British record transfer fee.
But the spending is not expected to stop there with further deals already in the pipeline with the potential for even more to follow.
Milos Kerkez is expected to become Liverpool's third summer signing with progress being made on a deal which would see the Hungary international join from Bournemouth.
And Marc Guehi, the Crystal Palace captain, is of interest to replace Jarell Quansah if he completes a switch to Bayer Leverkusen.
With that in mind, Liverpool could line up with a new look defence next season as they bid to defend their domestic crown.

In goal, Alisson will likely start the campaign as No.1.
Both are capable of playing further forward, too, giving Slot the scope to change shape and play with wing-backs if wanted.
That could lead to a back three with Guehi alongside Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, who would be expected to start the season as Liverpool's first-choice centre-back pairing.

But Guehi will be confident of breaking up that monopoly sooner rather than later, though, after a stellar season for Crystal Palace and there's every chance he could come straight in if Liverpool pay a premium price for the England star and decide to stick with a flat back four.
In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch can sit in and give Wirtz the freedom to pull the strings further up the pitch following his record-breaking move from Bayer Leverkusen.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will be hoping to benefit from Wirtz's arrival with the former enjoying his best ever season last time out.
Up front, Darwin Nunez is unlikely to lead the line with a summer exit mooted.
Liverpool will replace him, albeit it remains to be seen who with, so that could open the door for Diogo Jota to start the season as the Reds' No.9.
