But there are suggestions that Liverpool will only table a fresh bid for Isak if they receive some form of encouragement that the Magpies will sell the player.

The latter has already been approached by Newcastle but talks fizzled out due to a gap in valuations for the DR Congo international and how Brentford do not have a replacement for Wissa.

As such, Brentford are hoping to catch his eye with their proposal.

Keith Andrews’ side are said to be willing to offer Trossard a three-year deal at the Gtech Community Stadium and have already opened talks with the ex-Brighton star’s camp to sound out their interest.

Brentford will then decide whether to proceed with an official opening offer once they gauge the level of interest in the move from the 30-year-old.

If Arsenal were to allow Trossard to depart, it could be one of the most influential moves in the summer transfer window simply because of the domino effect it is likely to have.

If he were to head to Brentford, Wissa could be granted his move to Newcastle, which may therefore reopen talks between the Magpies and Liverpool for Isak.
