Arsenal have reportedly received a timely injury boost after early indications surrounding Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard ahead of next Sunday's clash against Liverpool.

The Gunners cruised to an emphatic victory in their first home win of the season as they thrashed Leeds United but their triumph was overshadowed by the double injury blow..

However, scans on Sunday have reportedly allayed initial fears with the suggestion that both issues aren't as bad as first thought.

Odegaard was withdrawn in the first 45 after a coming together left him with a shoulder injury.

The England international Saka limped off shortly before the hour mark after playing a pass with the initial complaints surrounding the rear of his left leg.

The initial fears surrounding Saka were over another hamstring problem after a similar injury required surgery.

However, The Times are reporting that the Gunners have been handed a boost with the injury issues not as bad as first feared after scans on Sunday.

But it remains unclear whether they will be fit to face Liverpool ahead of next Sunday's showdown.

The Reds will be hoping to go into the early season clash with maximum points as they face Newcastle United on Monday.

Already, Arsenal face the prospect of being without Kai Havertz, Ben White, Christian Norgaard and Gabriel Jesus for the trip to Anfield but now with the double injury boost, Odegaard and Saka have a race against time to be fit for Sunday.

“I haven’t spoken to the doctor yet but for Bukayo to come off, it’s significant,” Arteta said on Saturday.

“He felt something while he was sprinting.

[For] Martin [it is] something in his shoulder.
