Rumors that Arsenal might swoop in to snatch Alexander Isak from under Liverpool's nose have been firmly quashed by the club.

Arsenal, having shown interest in Isak previously, are now watching as the 26-year-old Newcastle striker becomes the target of a bid from Liverpool, with both the player and the reigning Premier League champions eager for him to lead their revamped frontline.

Newcastle, however, is reluctant to part with its leading man, and it's up in the air whether a resolution can be found before the transfer window concludes on Sept.
