Liverpool have dominated the Premier League this season.

Holding a fifteen point lead at the top of the table with three games to play, Liverpool are set to host Arsenal this weekend who will respect the tradition of granting the champions elect a guard of honour.

Arsenal were Liverpool’s closest challengers so far this season but it became pretty evident early on in the campaign that no other team was upholding the level of consistency that Liverpool were showing.

Pulling away from the pack and winning the league with four games to go, Arsenal will now have to swallow their pride and give Liverpool their respect ahead of Sunday’s clash.

The teams in and around Liverpool will no doubt look to strengthen this summer, in an attempt to avoid a repeat of this season.

Arsenal look to be the most active side so far, having agreed personal terms with Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, a Spanish midfielder who was so close to a move to Liverpool last summer before deciding to stay in Spain.

Now on his way to London, it seems like Arsenal are not done there, as a big report from Portugal has just come in.

According to Correio da Manha, Arsenal have submitted an offer worth £63 million for Sporting CP’s talisman.

The report goes on to state that the Portuguese side see this as an opening bid as they look to get as much money as possible for their star striker.

Whilst enduring another trophyless season, Arsenal are in desperate need of a clinical striker that could clinch some silverware for the team.

The London side will be hoping to secure the services of the Swedish striker but are sure to face competition as Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked.

The report reveals that Arsenal are wary that Chelsea may table a higher offer, closer to that of Gyokeres’ release clause of £85m.

Viktor Gyokeres has caught the attention of clubs around Europe after taking to life in Portugal extremely well.

Moving from Coventry City in the summer of 2023, Gyokeres has been in impressive goalscoring form.

This season alone, he has bagged a whopping 52 goals in 49 appearances and has also registered 12 assists.

He is just turned 26, leaving him many years to develop on an already impressive goalscoring record, and that could just be in the Premier League.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea continue to keep tabs on him.
