Arsenal have suffered an injury blow ahead of facing Liverpool at Anfield at the end of the month.
The Gunners are widely expected to be the Reds’ biggest challengers for the title this season, alongside Manchester City.
But they will arrive on Merseyside on the 30th of August with one less offensive weapon in their ranks.
Indeed, the Athletic has reported that Kai Havertz has suffered a new knee injury, but the prognosis is not clear yet:
“Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury,” wrote David Ornstein.
“Assessments are at an early stage so the prognosis and duration of any lay-off is unclear.”
“Arsenal are, however, actively exploring the transfer market to potentially reinforce their attack and cover the absence of Havertz.”
