Arsenal have been told what they must pay to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this summer.
It has already been a busy transfer window for Mikel Arteta’s side, who are hoping to beat the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool to the Premier League title next season.
The Gunners have brought in Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke in the forward areas, as well as reinforcing their midfield ranks with Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
However, Arsenal could still make a late move for Eze before the window shuts, to complete what would be a statement signing.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Crystal Palace will demand a fee of around £68million for their star midfielder.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Arsenal will act on their interest in Eze, and pay the fee needed to secure his services.

The 27-year-old had a £68m release clause in his Palace contract, but that expired at the beginning of August.
Wyness thinks that despite the fact they now have full control of Eze’s future, the Eagles will still accept offers around the £70m mark for the England international.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Palace will demand the same as the release clause, and I think he’s one of the few that can sustain that.
I think he is a talent, and it’d be good for him to stay in London.
I think that would make much more sense for him personally.
“It is going to be at that sort of level, and I think Arsenal are prepared to pay it.
“For Palace, it’s about getting all that work done to line up the replacements.
“It’s going to be last minute for Palace, but I do see that Arsenal interest really translating into something, and it will be at that sort of £70m mark.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal could increase their shirt and merchandise sales to around £120m after signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners signed the Sweden international in a £64m deal from Sporting Lisbon last month.
The Athletic reported on 29 July shirt sales for Gyokeres have already broken the club’s previous record for a signing in recent history.
The 27-year-old will wear the number 14 jersey, which was previously worn by fan favourite and record goalscorer Thierry Henry.
