Rumours that Arsenal might swoop in at the last minute to snatch Newcastle's unsettled striker, Alexander Isak, from under Liverpool's nose have been flatly denied by the club.
The Gunners have previously shown interest in Isak, who is reportedly unhappy at St James' Park.
The 26-year-old has recently been the target of a bid from Liverpool, with both the player and the Premier League champions eager for him to lead their revamped attack.
Newcastle are reluctant to part ways with their star forward, and it remains uncertain whether an agreement will be reached before the transfer window closes on September 1.
While many anticipate Liverpool to succeed in their chase for the Swedish international, news of an injury to Kai Havertz earlier this week sparked speculation that Arsenal might throw their hat into the ring for the summer's most talked-about transfer.

The Independent reports that such chatter was prevalent among 'senior officials' at the PFA awards earlier this week, the same night that Isak himself posted a dramatic statement on social media.
In a statement, Isak accused Newcastle of 'breaking promises', stating that his relationship with the club "can't continue".
The forward was absent from Newcastle's Premier League opener last weekend and will be missing again on Monday when the Magpies face Liverpool at St James' Park.
