Jack Grealish has had a superb start to his loan spell at Everton but many have been left surprised following a major snub.
Grealish is on a season-long loan at the Toffees from Manchester City, after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola.
The 29-year-old has impressed for the Merseyside club, grabbing four assists in just three Premier League games, and helping David Moyes’ side to wins over Brighton and Wolves.
However, despite his good form, Grealish was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming international break.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that after his performances domestically, the winger deserved a call-up.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Grealish will be dangerous for other clubs in the Premier League this season, and that he’s getting back to where he wants to be.

The attacker only managed two assists in his last two seasons while playing for Man City, but has doubled that tally in just three games for Everton.
Wyness added he has proven to be a very good signing for the Toffees, and one that the fans have been crying out for.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I was surprised he wasn’t in the England squad even after the first few games.
I think he’s showing enough signs that he’s getting back towards where he wants to be.
“It’s going to take a long time, and he’s going to settle in more.
It’s going to be very dangerous for clubs.
He’s changed the whole momentum, and at the £50m option to buy, that would be a snip compared to what we’ve seen so far in some of the transfer dealings.
He’s creating a lot of space for other players like Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Hopefully, they can go under the radar and keep winning a few games.”

Meanwhile, Everton are already considering making Grealish’s loan spell permanent come the end of the season, following his excellent performances, sources have told Football Insider.
The England international has a £50m option to buy in his loan agreement with Man City, placing the Toffees in a strong position over his long-term future.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 30 August that Man City will accept permanent offers for Grealish while he is resigned to the fact he has no future at the Etihad.
Clubs across Europe are believed to be keeping a close eye on the winger’s situation and may be prepared to rival Moyes‘ side in their interest.
