Aston Villa will not let midfielder Emiliano Buendia join Leeds United before the transfer window closes despite receiving a bid from the Yorkshire club.
On Sunday (31 August), Football Insider revealed that Buendia to Leeds could happen, but Villa have now made a U-turn regarding the Argentine’s future.
The 28-year-old’s time at Villa Park had looked to be over, after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen.
However, upon his return to the Midlands giants, Buendia has featured in two of the first three matches of the Premier League campaign.

According to John Percy, Aston Villa have rejected a loan offer from Leeds for Buendia and have decided that he will stay at the club beyond the end of the transfer window.
The decision comes as somewhat of a surprise following the news that Unai Emery’s side are set to sign two wingers, with the pair undergoing medicals today.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Villa had opened talks to bring in Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, and a loan deal with an obligation to buy has now been agreed.

Villa are also close to confirming the addition of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, for what is a straight loan move.
Meanwhile, Leeds United ex-defender James Debayo is weighing up offers from Belgian club Cercle Brugge and Portuguese club SC União Torreense, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back rejected a new deal at Leeds this summer, as well as offers from other English clubs, as he feels he is ready to be playing regular first-team football.
Back in 2021 at the age of 15, the Englishman completed a move to Elland Road from Watford, joining the club’s youth set-up.
Debayo made just one senior appearance for Daniel Farke’s side, coming off the bench for the last minute of a 4-3 win over Swansea City in November 2024.
