Philippe Coutinho is finally poised to leave Aston Villa, nearly two years after his last game for the club.
The 33-year-old Brazilian hasn't played for Unai Emery's team since August 2023, yet astonishingly, he still has a year left on his contract at Villa Park.
However, Vasco da Gama are now finalising a permanent deal for Coutinho following a season-long loan, according to the Mirror.

Although the loan didn't include a purchase option, all involved are confident that an agreement will be reached soon.
It's not ruled out that Villa could terminate Coutinho's contract, allowing the former Liverpool and Barcelona forward to join Vasco on a free transfer.
This would allow Villa to save a significant amount of money over the next 12 months, as Coutinho is believed to earn around £125,000.
