Jacob Ramsey will be hoping for better fortunes than his brother Aaron has had after his departure from Aston Villa this summer.
Jacob Ramsey followed his younger brother out of Bodymoor Heath this summer two years after Aaron’s £14million move to Burnley in 2023, following 17 goals and 19 assists in 167 appearances for Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old’s £40m switch to Newcastle United has proven to be an unpopular move among his ex-Villa team-mates, and Ramsey made his debut for Eddie Howe‘s side in Monday’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool.
Villa face pressure to sell more key players this summer as PSR threatens to force out the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers, with the final days of the transfer window set to be significant at Villa Park.

Burnley have undergone a whirlwind in the last few seasons with two relegations to the Championship and immediate promotions back to the top-flight, both of which have seen them win over 100 points.
The Clarets signed Aaron Ramsey prior to their previous Premier League return in 2023, but after 17 appearances, he suffered a serious injury against Arsenal which has ruled him out for almost 18 months.

Ramsey was limited to one appearance last term before yet another setback, and finally made his return to the side in their Carabao Cup second-round tie against Derby County, scoring the opener in a 2-1 win.
At full-time on Tuesday, Ramsey posted on Instagram with the message of: “A goal & W at Turf Moor.
Onto the next round.”
Several current and former Aston Villa team-mates responded to Ramsey’s post, with his brother Jacob commenting five ‘love heart’ emojis and the exit-linked Rogers saying: “Love it youuu”.
