Marc Guehi looks set to stay at Crystal Palace, despite Liverpool having agreed a deal for the defender on transfer deadline day.

The England international had looked to be on course to complete a move to the Reds, having undergone a medical in London after the two clubs agreed a $47 million deal.

With just a couple of hours remaining in the summer window though, the transfer was thrown into major jeopardy as Palace struggled to secure a replacement.

Igor Julio had looked set to join the Eagles on loan from Brighton, although reports suggested West Ham may have hijacked the move.

Despite that, a deal sheet was submitted, giving Liverpool and Palace an extra two hours to get the deal over the line.

According to The Athletic's David Ornstein though, Guehi is set to stay at Selhurst Park, with Liverpool having to wait until January for its next opportunity to sign the 25-year-old.
