According to Steve McManaman, Jordan Henderson gave Darwin Nunez “both barrels” as Liverpool struggled against Fulham earlier today.

Speaking live on commentary duty for BT Sport, McManaman – who made 364 appearances for Liverpool – said: “Henderson’s just given Darwin Nunez both barrels”.

Well, just before the £140,000-a-week Liverpool man netted his first Premier League goal, he received a grilling from his captain at Craven Cottage after failing to track back and retrieve a loose ball in the 58th minute.

There was surely no bad blood remaining between the pair, however, as Nunez flicked in an equaliser right in front of the travelling Liverpool fans, much to the delight of Henderson.

The Uruguay international’s lack of urgency on this particular occasion led to a chance for Fulham, and McManaman claims that the England international was left furious with his teammate for allowing the Cottagers to pick up possession.

Furthermore, with fierce competition for his place in Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, Klopp also won’t afford him much patience if he isn’t delivering the goods.

The likes of Henderson, Virgil van Dijk, James Milner and others will be on his back immediately if they believe he isn’t giving his all during games or in training, so we highly doubt we’ll see moments like what happened in the 58th minute earlier today again.
