For Dembele, it marks the end of an extraordinary turnaround in his career. 

In the summer of 2017, Dembele, after enjoying a promising campaign with Borussia Dortmund contributing six goals and 12 assists, was signed by the Catalans for a breathtaking £135.5m when he was only 20 years old.
