Barcelona are making big moves in the transfer window — just not the one Liverpool fans feared.

The Catalan giants have agreed personal terms with Athletic Club star Nico Williams, putting an end, at least for now, to their chase for Luis Diaz.

For weeks, Diaz’s future has been a talking point.



And that left the door just slightly open.

But Barcelona, once thought to be ready to knock, now seem to have walked away.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barca have reached a full agreement with Nico Williams on a six-year deal.

Now, they’re ironing out details with Athletic Club, who will demand the full €58 million release clause.

The Nico move makes sense for Barca.

“If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the two years I have left, I’ll be happy.

One winger flies to Spain, but another stays grounded on Merseyside.
