Africa Foot reported on Wednesday that Dabo was close to joining Man United after a successful trial period at the club.

Manchester Evening News, however, have denied those claims, saying: “Manchester United are not expected to sign Senegalese midfielder Mouhamed Dabo.

“A report claimed Dabo was set to sign for United after a successful trial at Carrington.

The same report linking Dabo to United has claimed the Catalan club are interested in his signature.

“It’s not unusual for United to be mentioned in transfer reports in order to give agents leverage,” Steven Railston finished.

The news of Orozco joining United and Dabo’s links being false came within hours of each other, and will sting for Red Devils fans.

Despite Dabo potentially not joining the club, Orozco represents Man United with an opportunity to right the wrongs of yesteryear.

Samuel Luckhurst of The Sun reported that since passing on the opportunity to sign Moises Caicedo five years ago, when the Ecuadorian joined Brighton, United have stepped up their scouting projects in South America.

Orozco joins Diego Leon as South American talents who have been signed by Man United this summer, and the pair will look to write their names in the history books when future first-team opportunities arise.
