It’s the U-21 European Championship, a stage that’s always buzzing with scouts, managers, and last-minute transfer talks.

And at this year’s edition in Slovakia, there’s been a familiar face moving through the stands.

They’ve been pushing quietly.

Now they’re close to sealing it.

22-year-old Jarell Quansah is on the verge of joining Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

According to Kicker, he Bundesliga side have reportedly reached an agreement with both Quansah and Liverpool.

The fee is expected to be over €30 million.

Leverkusen’s managing director Simon Rolfes was in Slovakia to get the final piece of the deal which was Quansah’s signature.

Rolfes watched the England vs Spain game on Saturday, where Quansah played 90 minutes at left-back.

England won 3-1.

A medical is still pending, and it may not happen until after the tournament ends.

England plays the Netherlands in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Still, things are progressing fast.

“Rolfes’s goal was therefore to at least secure the contract signature,” the report added.

Quansah couldn’t break past Van Dijk and Konaté at Liverpool last season.

Now, he gets a fresh start in Germany.

The deal’s not sealed yet, but barring surprises, the red shirt could soon be swapped for black and red.
