Bayer Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes has confirmed that Liverpool has "concrete interest" in signing Germany playmaker Florian Wirtz from the Bundesliga side this summer.
Wirtz is valued at around $169 million (£126 million).
Last week, Manchester City dropped out of the race for the 22-year-old, who notched 31 goal contributions in all competitions this season.
Since then, Bayern Munich has conceded that it is Liverpool leading the race for his signature.
