New Bayer Leverkusen boss Erik ten Hag admits he is braced to lose Florian Wirtz as Liverpool continue to attempt to thrash out a deal for the attacking midfielder.
The Reds have been in talks with Leverkusen over a blockbusting deal for Wirtz having moved ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign the Germany international.
Liverpool will have to pay well in excess of €100million (£84m) although there could be a compromise over the final fee depending on how the package is structured regards money up front and add-ons.
There is also a possibility a player exchange could be part of any agreement.
German news outlet Bild reported on Friday night that Wirtz's family have informed Bayern of the intention of the player to move to Liverpool after the Reds last week made it known to Wirtz's entourage they would be interested should the player decide to pursue a fresh challenge away from the Bundesliga.

Manchester City were also courting Wirtz until withdrawing from the race due to the cost of the deal and a belief Wirtz preferred a move to Anfield.
With right-back Jeremie Frimpong set for a £30m move to Liverpool and head coach Xabi Alonso departing for Real Madrid, it already promises to be a summer of upheaval at Leverkusen.
