While Reds fans celebrated a lively new right-back, Bayer Leverkusen took a moment to reflect — and to say goodbye in a way that hit home for many.

Frimpong spent three memorable years in Germany.

Now, as he steps into Anfield with plenty of pace and personality, Leverkusen made sure their parting words matched the player’s energy.

In a touching message on Instagram, Leverkusen wrote:

“Dear Jerry… You arrived with a smile, and you never stopped sharing it.

Under Liverpool’s post announcing the signing, Leverkusen commented: “Take care of this great lad!”

It was a handoff — from one proud club to another, with plenty of respect in between.

Frimpong, too, had words for the club he leaves behind: “Leverkusen was a very special stage in what I hope will be a long career… I will always be a Leverkusen player.”
