Liverpool is likely to make several signings this summer.
Despite a good season in which the Reds won the Carabao Cup and maintained a title challenge deep into the final stretch, ultimately finishing third in the Premier League, the club still needs to make a couple of astute additions in order to strengthen ahead of next season.
Moreover, with Arne Slot as the new manager, the Dutchman will no doubt want to bring in one or two signings in order to help Liverpool hit the ground running in 2024/25.
Elliott has since gone on to become one of Liverpool's brightest players — but that formula seemingly won't be repeating in the case of one of the continent's exciting talents.

Assan Ouédraogo had been linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the season.
Injury ruled him out for a large chunk of the campaign, but he is clearly a talent for the future.
Fabrizio Romano had stated that Liverpool was interested in signing Ouédraogo back in October 2023, along with Milan and Bayern Munich: “Assan Ouédraogo – There have been reports about Liverpool being keen on Schalke youngster Assan Ouédraogo, and yes it’s true that Liverpool like him but it’s the same for Bayern Munich and AC Milan,” Romano said.
It seems now, however, that he won't be joining Liverpool or Milan, as Romano is now suggesting that Ouédraogo is close to joining Bayern.
Another season for Ouédraogo, 18, would likely allow him to mature and develop as a player.
Liverpool.com says: Ouédraogo is still only a teenager and staying in Germany is likely the best thing for his development as a player, so it's probably the right decision.
Moreover, Liverpool most likely would've done the same thing Bayern intends to do: send him on loan to gain experience.
