Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has shared the latest update on Luis Diaz and the reported interest from Bayern Munich.
There was always a feeling that Diaz’s future would be one of the major talking points entering the summer transfer window.
However, not many fans would have expected that the Colombian’s future would become something of a saga that it has turned into.
Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich are believed to be very keen on the winger after Nico Williams penned a 10-year deal at boyhood side Athletic Bilbao.
At 28, after tallying 17 goals and eight assists across all competitions last season, Luis Diaz is approaching the final two years of his Liverpool contract.
There has been little indication that a new offer is imminent.
Yesterday, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that the Colombian has now taken it a step further and submitted a transfer request.
Meanwhile, German outlet BILD have claimed that the Bavarian giants want to spend a maximum of €60 million plus bonuses for the Colombian winger.
This comes after Diaz had reportedly gave verbal assurances to the Bundesliga champions.
Also, reports from Colombia, as cited by journalist Pipe Sierra, indicate that Diaz will instruct the Anfield hierarchy to offer him a new deal or permit his departure this summer.
Florian Plettenberg, who has been providing a lot of updates on the future of Diaz, has now revealed the length of the contract Bayern Munich are willing to offer the 28-year-old.
According to the German reporter, Bayern are willing to offer Diaz a four to five year contract that will could him stay at the club till 2030.
“FC Bayern are prepared to offer Luis Díaz a contract until 2029 or 2030,” the journalist revealed.
“Díaz remains willing to leave Liverpool if a suitable offer arrives and is aware of concrete interest from Bayern?
At present, however, there is no agreement between Bayern and Díaz and no concrete negotiations between Bayern and Liverpool.”
The journalist also revealed that Liverpool are expecting to get up to €80 for Diaz, depending on the buyer.
“Despite the rejected approaches, Díaz is still considered a potential candidate for sale,” he added.
“LFC are said to be expecting a fee of €70–80 million, depending on the buyer (Europe or Saudi Arabia).”
