The Reds completed eight signings during the window, including a £125million deadline-day deal for Alexander Isak, with Guehi expected to be the ninth addition to Arne Slot’s squad before the move collapsed.
A £35million agreement had been reached between Liverpool and Palace for the England international.
However, the transfer fell through at the eleventh hour after the Eagles were unable to secure a replacement, despite Liverpool submitting a formal deal sheet in an effort to finalise the move.
The defender is said to be “angry” at Palace’s decision to block the transfer, having already undergone a medical in London on Monday with a view to joining Liverpool.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner reportedly warned the club he would resign if Guehi’s move went through.
This setback followed Palace’s failed attempt to sign Brighton defender Igor Julio, who had been considered a potential replacement for Guehi.
Guehi captained Palace to FA Cup glory last season and scored his first goal of the current campaign in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Reports suggest he may release a statement following the collapsed transfer.
According to talkSPORT, Bayern Munich are among the clubs monitoring Guehi and could make a move for him at the end of the season.
Premier League champions Liverpool remain interested in signing Guehi.
One of the reasons the Reds were keen to complete the deal this summer is that Guehi could sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs as early as January.
