(Image: Christina Pahnke - sampics/Corbis via Getty Images)Liverpool have emerged as potential suitors for Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise - although reports suggest that the Bundesliga giants will look to deter interested clubs.
It was suggested that the Reds had outlined the 23-year-old as a long-term successor for Mohamed Salah.
In the latter stages of the summer transfer window, Liverpool seemingly emerged as one of the clubs said to be interested in the France international.
However, no move came to fruition in the closing days, as the Reds landed Alexander Isak for a club-record £125million before losing out on Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
Towards the end of his record-breaking season - last year - Salah penned a two-year extension to end long-term speculation over his future with Liverpool, tying down his immediate future.

In a report from TBR Football, Bayern are now plotting talks with Olise to extend his deal - before the end of the season - as the Bavarians look to defend their Bundesliga crown.
It has been said that the club are prepared to offer the former Crystal Palace winger, who made the move to the Allianz Arena in 2024 for around £50million, a wage hike in order to fend off English suitors.
Liverpool, the claim adds, are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old but face a battle with Premier League rivals Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona admirers.
According to reports, his current wages of over £200,000-a-week are exaggerated - but Vincent Kompany's side wish to offer him more than the reported figure.
Premier League champions Liverpool enjoyed a busy summer in the transfer window and they twice broke their record with the high-profile arrivals of Florian Wirtz and Isak.
Reports suggesting Olise had a buyout clause active in his current deal which would be active from next summer were subsequently rubbished after claims Liverpool viewed him as Salah's successor.
