Liverpool are reportedly one of several clubs involved in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
The Reds are bracing themselves for a summer of change at Anfield that goes beyond the transfer window.
Now a fresh update has emerged around the Germany international's future.
According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are prepared to sanction the exit of the midfielder this summer.
Liverpool are joined by Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona as possible options for Kimmich this summer.
Two clubs have already been ruled out of the race to sign the midfielder at the end of the season.
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are not considered options for Kimmich in the event he leaves Bayern this summer.
The report claims that Kimmich himself is also not ruling out a move away from the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season.
It has also been claimed that some of the aforementioned five clubs have already made contact with Kimmich over a move, but it has not been stated which.
Kimmich's current contract with Bayern is due to expire in the summer of 2025, at the end of next season.
As things stand there has been no sign of an extension being agreed between the club and the player, which has led to the increased speculation that Kimmich - who is capable of playing at right-back as well as in midfield - could join a new club in the summer.
