The Bundesliga champions are ready to offer a five-year contract for Diaz amid interest from Barcelona.

The 28-year-old has already said ‘yes’ to Vincent Kompany’s side as they step up their interest in the Colombia international.

He has two years left on his remaining Liverpool contract.

Diaz was one of the standout players for Arne Slot’s side last season as they clinched their 20th league title.

The former FC Porto forward scored 22 goals for club and country last term, with 13 of those in the Premier League.

Manchester City were linked with a move for Diaz last summer, while he also had admirers in Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool are yet to open talks with Diaz over a new deal, even though he is considered an important player ahead of next season.

Diaz has already revealed that he is delighted at Anfield.

“I’m very happy at Liverpool – I’ve always said so,” said Diaz when on international duty earlier this summer.

“The transfer market is opening, and we’re trying to arrange what’s best for us.

I’m waiting to see what happens.

“If Liverpool give us a good extension or I have to see out my two-year contract, I’ll be happy.

I’m here to decide and see what’s best for us and the future.”

Bayern Munich’s opening offer worth £58.6m for Diaz was rejected by Liverpool, who are not willing to sell him.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are preparing a new offer for Diaz as he remains top of their transfer list.

He posted on X: “Bayern are preparing a new offer.

As reported yesterday, the transfer of Díaz remains Bayern’s top priority.

“There is still no full agreement between Díaz and Bayern, but that is not expected to be a problem?

He could sign a contract until 2029 or 2030.”
