Bayern Munich are weighing up a swoop for Crystal Palace's FA Cup hero Eberechi Eze after being snubbed by Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz.
The German giants have admit defeat in their pursuit of the Bayer Leverkusen star.
Bayern, who were willing to break the bank to land the German attacker from their Bundesliga rivals, are now pushing ahead with alternative transfer plans after being informed that Wirtz wants to move to Anfield.
Palace have good relations with Bayern following the £50.8m sale of Michael Olise last July.
Eze was courted by the likes of Manchester City last summer and is expected to be the subject of fresh Premier League interest, however, his buy-out clause is thought to be time-sensitive and will expire around two weeks before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Eagles want to keep Eze and plan to open contract talks with the England international after his impressive season which culminated in him firing them into the Europa League with last weekend's FA Cup Final winner against City.

Eze's strike ensured a first major trophy for Palace and means European football will head to Selhurst Park for the first time next term.
And Oliver Glasner is hoping to build on their cup triumph.
Ideally that means keeping talisman Eze at the club next season and strengthening the side around him.
But Palace are aware that Eze may want to test himself with a move to a Champions League club after five years in south London.
However, with a World Cup in 12 months time and Eze harbouring ambitions of not just being part of the Three Lions squad, but starting for Thomas Tuchel, moving to pastures new is far from a simple decision.
