Bayern Insider Shares What Luis Diaz Has Decided on Potential Switch
Bayern Munich have made a significant effort to secure the transfer of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz this summer.
Despite Bayern's official bid of around £58.5 million (€67.5 million) being rejected outright by Liverpool, the German champions continue to prioritize signing the Colombian international. Bayern reportedly value Diaz highly and have prepared contract terms of at least four years to entice him.
Liverpool, however, have maintained a firm stance on Diaz's future. The club considers him an important player for both the upcoming season and the remainder of his contract, which runs for two more years. Internally, the club values Diaz at over £86 million (€100 million+), significantly above Bayern's current offers. Liverpool has communicated clearly to interested parties, including Bayern and Barcelona, that Diaz is not for sale.
Bayern insiders suggest that Diaz’s personal preference leans toward a move to Bayern, indicating a desire for the switch despite Liverpool’s resistance. This creates a challenging situation where the player's wishes potentially conflict with Liverpool's firm no-sale policy. Bayern are reportedly willing to continue negotiations and may increase their offer, with combined expenditure on targets like Diaz and Nick Woltemade possibly exceeding €150 million.
Meanwhile, Liverpool remains steadfast, having rejected multiple bids including one of €67.5 million, and showing no inclination to sell Diaz unless an offer closer to their valuation arrives. The club views Diaz as a crucial asset following his contribution of 13 Premier League goals last season, helping Liverpool secure the title.
