Not many expected this, but Liverpool fans probably can’t wait for the season to end now.

It wasn’t so long ago that there was quadruple talk on Merseyside.

Did the Liverpool supporters really believe it was going to happen?

No.

But they didn’t expect the team to be in a situation where, weeks before the season has ended, they are out of the Premier League title race, booted out of Europe and got knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United.

This was never on the cards and it has left many shocked, frustrated and angry.

That’s probably why, during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at West Ham United on Saturday, Mohamed Salah decided to have a touchline spat with Jurgen Klopp.

Let’s be honest, it’s all to do with where the team is at, the fact that he is on the bench and his form has gone out of the window since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Previously, when Salah has returned from the sidelines, for one reason or another, he has taken his time to settle back in before he can showcase his worth again.

Many expected the same to happen again, yet role to the present and his form is still nowhere to be seen.

In that regard, he only has himself to blame and the recent incident will Klopp has got many people talking.

Danny Murphy shared that he understood Salah’s frustration, but he labelled the player a ‘baby’ and ‘weak’ for airing his dirty laundry in public, as he told talkSPORT.

The former midfielder doesn’t have an issue with the 31-year-old confronting his manager.

“For me, Salah hasn’t been at it.

Or when the team is picked, you pull the manager and you have it out then.

That’s what the fans will be saying ahead of Liverpool’s home clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

Of course, Klopp will hold a pre-match press conference before all of that and you expect him to, once again, play everything down.

But given that Salah’s form has gone out of the window of late, wouldn’t it be fitting if it returned in style against Spurs in the form of a hat-trick?!

You just wouldn’t put it past that type of scenario unfolding and the drama of the London Stadium all being put to bed once and for all.
