Celtic have 'made contact' with Liverpool over a potential move for Ben Davies this summer as Parkhead chiefs revive their interest in the centre-back.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt are the undisputed centre-back pairing at Parkhead ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old looked set for a move to the Scottish Premiership before he left Preston for Anfield in January 2021.
He was named on the Liverpool bench eight times last season after his loan spell at Sheffield United was cut short due to injury, but he doesn't look likely to get a second chance under Jurgen Klopp in pre-season.
However, the move to the English Premier League hasn't worked out for Davies and he has not kicked a ball for the club in a competitive game, with the Champions League finalists finally set to cut their losses this summer.
And despite already making their money back on the player, the Liverpool Echo report that the club are looking for "an overall package" of £4million to let Davies leave this summer.
However, he has yet to meet any of the requirements in a deal and the club demanded a £500k loan fee from Sheffield United to secure his services last term.
