Ben Doak could be the next Liverpool academy product to follow the likes of Bobby Clark out of the door at Anfield.
Liverpool‘s squad has undergone huge changes already this summer with a plethora of incomings and outgoings at first-team and academy level, and around £400million in transfer fees changing hands.
That’s a stark contrast to last summer after Federico Chiesa became Liverpool’s only first-team addition of the window for £10m, and Clark was one of several to head the other way in a surprise £10m transfer.
Clark followed former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders to RB Salzburg last August as fellow youngsters Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg also left for big money, and Doak could be the next to follow suit.
The 19-year-old has been continually linked with a move away from Anfield after his impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough last season, and a £30m move to arch-rivals Everton has been mooted this summer.

With Doak‘s departure on the cards this summer amid new interest from Wolves in the Scotland winger, Liverpool will hope to earn a massive PSR profit on the teenager if a move of up to £30m comes to pass.
Clark‘s £10m exit to Salzburg did similar for the Reds’ balance sheet, but the 20-year-old’s first season in Austria was underwhelming with just a single goal scored across 25 appearances in all competitions.

Football Insider revealed on 5 August that Clark was undergoing a medical with Derby County ahead of a season-long loan move to Pride Park, and that switch was confirmed by the player later on Wednesday.
Clark posted on Instagram to announce that he’s; “Excited for the season” after his return to English shores with Derby, and Doak commented with a ‘flames’ and ‘applause’ emoji to show his support.

Football Insider Verdict
Liverpool have seen several of last season’s title-winning mainstays leave this summer, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and most recently Luis Diaz in a £65m switch to Bayern Munich.
Although the Reds are in pursuit of Alexander Isak, centre-back depth is also needed at Anfield this summer and Doak has been mooted as a makeweight in a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
Guehi and Doak exchanging places alongside a £30m transfer fee could be good for all parties but it’s unclear if the Scot wants to stay and fight for his place in Slot’s stacked frontline, rather than be used as collateral in another high-profile transfer.
