Bernardo Silva has conceded Liverpool and Arsenal currently have better odds than Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Since joining the Cityzens in 2017, Silva has enjoyed considerable success, missing out on the league title in only two seasons under Pep Guardiola.

Liverpool won the title in 2020 and then comfortably secured it in Arne Slot's debut campaign.

Despite a period of dominance in English football, City had a less impressive run last year but still finished among the top three.

They have already suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham and a disheartening 2-1 loss away at Brighton and Hove Albion, but have bounced back with a convincing 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

With the strong starts from both Arsenal and Slot's Liverpool this season, Silva, while acknowledging it's still early in the season, claims his team are not the frontrunner for the Premier League crown.

Speaking to the official Manchester City website, the Portuguese star said: "I would say that Liverpool and Arsenal are the favourites.

"But, it's the beginning and last season everyone said Manchester City were the favourites.

The Cityzens make the journey to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as they attempt to thrust themselves back into the title race.

The Gunners have already suffered a 1-0 loss to Liverpool this term and another loss to a title contender would represent a devastating setback.

Mikel Arteta's side currently occupy second place, though defeat to City combined with unfavourable results elsewhere could see Arsenal tumble out of the top four entirely.
