Chelsea have plotted a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as Enzo Maresca continues his busy summer of recruitment.

After winning both the Conference League and the Club World Cup, Chelsea have signed Estevao and fellow winger Jamie Gittens this summer.

But with the West Londoners eager to launch a serious Premier League title bid, Maresca’s business in the market is not stopping there.

Amid their pursuit of the 21-year-old, Chelsea hold all the cards in their negotiations for Garnacho, with Man United eager to part company with the Argentina international.

Garnacho displayed his attacking talent by notching 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last term.

His performances for the Red Devils suggest that he can be an asset for Chelsea, who will be eager to reach the latter stages of this season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, speaking live on talkSPORT on Monday, 11 August, Ray Parlour said: “[His] attitude could be a bit of a problem.

But I think he’s very talented.

I think it’d be a good match for him to go to Chelsea.”

Garnacho could prove to be a strong acquisition for Chelsea.

However, Maresca’s men already boast talented wingers like Pedro Neto and Tyrique George, while Cole Palmer excels on the right-hand side.

Therefore, to ensure that the current Manchester United star performs well in West London, Chelsea must sell some of their assets.

With that in mind, Christopher Nkunku did not feature against Bayer Leverkusen in a pre-season victory on Friday, 8 August, or play in the friendly win over AC Milan on Sunday, 10 August, making his departure more likely.

Allowing Nkunku, who can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger, facilitates Maresca’s move for Garnacho.

The Argentine is far from guaranteed to start if he joins Chelsea, amid strong competition, but his best moments in Man United colours prove that he is a talented player.

Furthermore, the Blues need more squad depth to reach the latter stages of the Champions League.
