Liverpool have undergone significant first-team changes this summer, with key departures including Luis Díaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhín Kelleher, and Jarell Quansah.
The Reds’ astute sales have allowed the club to invest heavily in new signings, reportedly spending over £250million on Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Although Liverpool agreed to sign Mamardashvili last summer, the deal is officially recorded as a 2025 transfer.
Liverpool forward Ben Doak has been linked with a move to Bournemouth this summer.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from FC Porto and Premier League sides, including Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and West Ham, following a productive loan spell at Championship side Middlesbrough last season.
However, it is Bournemouth who are leading the race to sign the Scotland international.
He joined Liverpool from Celtic for £600,000 in May 2022.
Doak spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Middlesbrough, contributing three goals and seven assists in 24 Championship appearances before a hamstring injury in January prematurely ended his campaign.
Prior to the injury, he had already attracted bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.
The forward, who has made 10 senior appearances for Liverpool, was an unused substitute in Sunday’s FA Cup Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign Doak.
Bournemouth have had a busy summer, losing defenders Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, and Milos Kerkez for around £150m.
Manager Andoni Iraola admits the squad is “not where they want to be” but expects key signings before the September 1 transfer deadline.
New arrivals include goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, left-back Adrien Truffert, centre-back Bafode Diakite, and January signing Eli Junior Kroupi, who returns after a loan at Lorient.
