Liverpool FC have stepped up their efforts to secure Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, with widespread reports confirming that the deal is in its final stages and could be announced imminently.
The 21-year-old Hungarian international has emerged as Arne Slot’s preferred choice to reinforce the left-back position ahead of the 2025–26 season.
Bournemouth’s decision to sign Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert on a five-year contract for an initial £11.4 million has cleared the way for Kerkez’s departure, signalling that the Cherries are ready to sanction the move.
The replacement has been widely interpreted as a green light for Liverpool to conclude the deal.
Now the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele has revealed that Bournemouth and Liverpool have come to an agreement for the fee of Milos Kerkez, revealing that the Reds are set to pay around £40m instead of the circulated £45m:
“Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes has maintained strong relationships with Bournemouth since he left the Vitality Stadium last year and it is understood a breakthrough was made six weeks ago for the Kerkez transfer to go through.”
“Bournemouth and transfer chief Simon Francis stood firm on their £45m valuation but have now shaken hands on a slightly reduced package of around £40m, with only finer details holding up a total agreement.”
