Bournemouth have completed the signing of 19-year-old winger Ben Doak from Liverpool for a fee reported to be around £25 million, which includes a buy-back clause for Liverpool. Doak has signed a five-year contract with Bournemouth and will be joining the club ahead of the 2025-26 season. This move comes as a replacement for Bournemouth’s sold forward Dango Ouattara, who transferred to Brentford for £42.5 million.

Ben Doak, a Scotland international, initially joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 and made 10 appearances across all competitions with Liverpool, including three Premier League substitute appearances. Last season, he was loaned to Middlesbrough in the Championship, where he scored three goals and contributed seven assists in 24 games before an injury curtailed his campaign in January. Doak has also impressed in his six caps for Scotland.

The transfer represents part of a busy summer for Liverpool, who have now sold eight players and recouped approximately £227.6 million, substantially offsetting their expenditure of around £321 million on new signings. Other notable Liverpool departures this summer include Luis Diaz, Darwin Núñez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhín Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Nat Phillips, and Jarell Quansah. The buy-back deal for Doak provides Liverpool the option to bring him back if needed.

Bournemouth faced competition from several clubs, including Porto, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, Wolves, West Ham, Everton, Stuttgart, Bologna, and Monaco, before securing Doak’s signature. Liverpool had also rejected bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich earlier in the year. The signing bolsters Bournemouth’s attacking options after significant changes in their squad last season.

Liverpool and Bournemouth officially confirmed the transfer on August 18, 2025, with Liverpool wishing Doak success in his new chapter at the Vitality Stadium.
