Bournemouth are reportedly already putting plans in place for Milos Kerkez's departure amid links of a possible transfer to Liverpool.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Cherries left-back over the last few months as the summer transfer window approaches.

The ECHO reported in March that Kerkez is a player of interest to Liverpool but is not the only name under consideration.



Bournemouth are reported to value Kerkez at around £45million, with the Hungary international enjoying an impressive season on the south coast.

Rumours about Liverpool potentially signing Kerkez have ramped up over the last couple of weeks.

Now a fresh update has emerged about Bournemouth's transfer plans which could affect the Reds' chances of bringing Kerkez to Anfield.

The Mirror have reported that Bournemouth are showing an interest in signing Marseille left-back Quentin Merlin.

The report claims the Cherries are exploring several options in the position, with Merlin one player who has been identified as a potential target this summer.

As a result, it suggests that Andoni Iraola's side are planning for the seemingly inevitable departure of Kerkez by looking to sign his future replacement.

Merlin is joined by Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia and Wolves star Hugo Bueno as alternative left-back options who are reportedly on the Cherries transfer wishlist this summer.

Kerkez is not the only player who could sign for Liverpool in the next few weeks.

Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz are players of interest to the Reds, too.

Frimpong completed a medical with Liverpool earlier this month ahead of a £30million move to Anfield.

The Reds also remain in talks with Leverkusen over a deal to sign Wirtz, who is thought to be valued at around £125million this summer and has previously been linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
