Bournemouth do not want to sell David Brooks in the summer transfer window amid interest from Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have endured a tough summer transfer window, as Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Marc Guehi is set to join Liverpool after the second leg of Palace’s Conference League qualifier with Fredrikstad on Thursday, 28 August.

Oliver Glasner’s men have drawn both of their first two Premier League games this term with Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, respectively.

Meanwhile, former Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has joined Arsenal, in a major blow to the South London side.

After Eze joined Arsenal, Crystal Palace have eyed a move for Bournemouth star Brooks.

The winger notched an assist when Bournemouth were beaten 4-2 by Liverpool in the opening Premier League fixture on 15 August.

Football Insider verdict

While Brooks notched just two goals and two assists across all competitions last term, the argument could be made that the Cherries should cash in on their man amid Crystal Palace’s interest.

However, the Dorset club have already endured a tough summer window as former star defenders Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Illia Zabarnyi joined Real Madrid, Liverpool, and PSG, respectively.

Andoni Iraola’s side have also witnessed winger Dango Outtara move to Premier League rivals Brentford.

Outtara was a good source of creativity for Bournemouth last season, scoring seven goals and producing four assists in 32 top-flight outings.

Therefore, Iraola has made the right call by deciding to retain Brooks, whose performances so far this season indicate that he is capable of stepping up.

After suffering a 2-0 defeat to Brentford in the Carabao Cup last time out on Tuesday, 26 August, Bournemouth face Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, 30 August.
