Bournemouth have had a busy summer, recently selling Dango Ouattara to Brentford for £42.5million.
The club have also seen defenders Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, and Milos Kerkez leave for a combined total of around £150 million, joining Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Liverpool, respectively.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola admitted his side are “not where they want to be” ahead of their defeat at Anfield, adding that “important movements” will be made before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Liverpool have confirmed Ben Doak has joined Bournemouth.
Doak was left out of the Reds’ 4-2 win over Bournemouth at Anfield as talks between the clubs continued.
He has now joined the Cherries, having spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he scored three goals and provided seven assists in 24 Championship appearances.
Bournemouth reportedly beat interest from other Premier League clubs, including Leeds, and Portuguese side Porto.
The move offers Doak more first-team opportunities after just 10 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Celtic in 2022.
Gannon Doak commented on the move: “I’m buzzing to be here.
I feel like it’s the right time for me and it’s a great opportunity to play regular football at the highest level.
It feels like the perfect fit.
“The team play very nice football.
It’s fast and it really suits my game, so I felt like I couldn’t say no to the chance to play here.”
Liverpool’s summer sales now total around £200m, following the departures of Luis Diaz (£65.5m), Darwin Nunez (£46.3m), Jarrell Quansah (£35m), Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Nat Phillips, and an early release fee for Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m)?
Doak’s sale could bring the club roughly £85m from these six players, all of whom were initially signed as youth or development prospects, boosting Liverpool’s profit and sustainability calculations.
