It’s only mid-June, but clubs across the Premier League are already making big moves.
There’s no waiting around this summer.
Plans are being put into motion fast, especially by teams looking to stay ahead of the curve.
For Liverpool, the activity on the south coast is of particular interest.
One club’s signing can be another club’s opportunity.
That’s the case here.
A position Liverpool have been monitoring closely is now seeing some real movement elsewhere.
Bournemouth, who enjoyed a record-breaking campaign last season, are planning for change.
They’ve filled a key position quickly, and all signs point to a follow-up transfer that could directly affect the Reds.
It’s a domino that could fall in Liverpool’s favour.
Bournemouth have officially confirmed the signing of French left-back Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
The 23-year-old joins on a five-year deal, keeping him at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2030.
His arrival is set to pave the way for Milos Kerkez’s possible departure — a move strongly linked with Liverpool.
The French international has made over 150 Ligue 1 appearances since breaking into the Rennes first team in 2020.
Last season, he also captained the side and earned a silver medal with France at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Speaking to afcb.co.uk, Truffert said, “I’m really happy and proud to join AFC Bournemouth.
It’s a great opportunity for me to keep progressing and to be part of an ambitious project.”
“I felt the club’s confidence in me from the first discussions, and I’m excited to get started.”
He added, “It’s a dream for any player to play in the Premier League?
It’s one of the best and most competitive leagues in the world.”
“I’m looking forward to testing myself at this level, facing top players every week, and helping the team achieve great things.”
Tiago Pinto, President of Football Operations at Bournemouth, said, “We’re delighted to bring such an excellent talent to the club so early on in the window.”
“Adrien is a player that we’ve admired for some time and he brings significant experience to the squad despite still being just 23 years of age.”
“We’re excited to work with Adrien and are thrilled to have a player of such quality join us as we look to build on a record-breaking season for the club.”
With Kerkez now expected to move on, Liverpool will keep close tabs.
Reports suggest the Reds are targeting the Hungarian left-back with a long-term contract that could run to 2030.
Bournemouth’s early signing clears the path for what could be the Reds’ next major summer addition.
